Today’s Thoughts

The heatwave continues. Sure glad my evap cooler keeps plugging away.

The press isn’t buying Biden’s latest interview. It is time to talk about his policies in his next term. I know his accomplishments; I want to know what is ahead.

It sure looks like any Trump new convictions is off the table, and there is a slim chance that his latest convictions will be overturned. What a mess.

I was happy to hear that Hurricane Beryl missed my brothers place. They got wind and rain, but not a devastating hurricane.

Origin of common phrases

Long in the tooth

Referring to being old, the term "long in the tooth" can first be found in a South Dakota newspaper in 1889, when a prospective buyer was trying to judge the age of a horse. Horses' teeth keep growing through their lives—although they are ground down as the horses eat—and so are used to determine their age.

False Facts about religions

All Jews Follow the Same Religious Practices

Like Christians, Jews adhere to multiple denominations within their faith. There are Orthodox Jews, Reform Jews, and Conservative Jews, each with its own philosophy and interpretation of the laws contained in the Torah. Cultural differences further influence practice within these denominations worldwide.

It’s still peace and love for me, I’m a product of the 60s and it was a very influential period in my life, and you know, my head was turned around a bit, my eyes were opened as it were. In fact, I even have it on my arm, ‘Peace and love’. I see nothing wrong with peace and love.”
