Today’s Thoughts

It’s another dry hot day. Evap cooler working fine.

PBS News Hour had a great story on the massive amount of electricity and cold clean water needed to run the many AI farms around the US and the world. It was a very frightening report for Independence Day.

Then came the PBS Salute to the Fourth. What a great annual program. It put me in a very patriotic mood so I added a new column to this post. I hope you enjoy it.

I headed to Sam’s this morning for some essntials. In the parking lot I saw this cute bumper sticker: The Difference between try and triumph is just a little ‘umph’. That makes sense to me.

Origin of common phrases

Full of beans

Meaning energetic, "full of beans" is thought to come from late-1800s horse racing, when horses would be fed beans to make them gassy in the belief that they would run faster.

False Facts about religions

Muslims Worship a Different God

Islam, Christianity, and Judaism are called Abrahamic religions for a reason: They all originate from Abraham’s faith and covenant with the same God. ‘Allah’ is only an Arabic term for God, just like ‘YHWH (Yahweh)’ is the Hebrew word for God. Islam also emphasizes the same prophetic lineage as Christianity, with the addition of Mohammed.
