Today’s Thoughts
No rain and hot through the weekend.
My good friend, KB passed around noon
yesterday. He was at home with his family in hospice care. Complications from diabetes
led to his passing. I’ve known him since he was in Jr. High and was good
friends with his parents, both have passed. He leaves 4 adult children, his
wife, and many family members. His humor and friendliness will be missed by
everyone who knew him.
June was the 9th wettest
here in Flagstaff with the majority of the moisture coming from the last 5 days
of June with the early monsoon. I’m hoping July brings even more rain.
While it was difficult to listen to, I
learned a lot from the Rachael Maddow interview with Stormy Daniels. Sadly, she
and her family are still getting death threats for telling her story about
Trump.

Origin of common phrases
Raring
to
"Raring
to," as in very eager, seems to
have originated in the early 19th-century South. It's likely to have come from
rearing, when a horse rises up on its hind legs in excitement or agitation.
False Facts about religions
Buddhists Worship
the Buddha
Yes, Buddhism has its name tied to Buddha. However, its followers never
worship Buddha. They revere him as an enlightened leader whose teachings help
us better understand our world and spirituality. What’s more, meditation and
following the Eightfold Path, not worship, are central to Buddhist practices.
