Today’s Thoughts
The monsoon is continuing so things
are good here.
The Republican Convention is in full swing.
One of the speakers was talking about ‘Anger-tainment.’ She was saying that was
the Dems strategy. I disagree that is BOTH party’s strategy. So tired of it.
SD Governor Kristie Noem talked up her
state and the Republican agenda. For some reason she neglected to mention that
all nine of the Indian reservations in her state have banned her from coming on
any reservation in her state. It seems during her tenure as governor she has
stated that the state’s meth problem is because the Tribal leaders working with
the Mexican Cartels to bring meth into each reservation and then distributing
it throughout the state. She has been unable to offer any proof of this
conspiracy.

Phrases used by Old-er People that younger people might not
understand
“Can’t Teach an Old Dog
New Tricks”
The Idioms states that this phrase “is considered
as one of the oldest idioms of old English language.” It’s said to have been
first used in 1546, though it became increasingly popular in the boomer era.
The phrase means that it’s hard to change someone’s established behavior or beliefs
and is sometimes used self-deprecatingly nowadays by boomers about their own
adaptability.
False Facts about religions
The Pope Is the
Leader of All Christians
Although he is the most recognized Christian leader in the world, the
Pope only has authority over the Roman Catholic Church. Denominations, like
Orthodox Christians, are under the leadership of the Ecumenical Patriarch
Bartholomew, while Protestant leadership is decentralized amongst ministers,
pastors, and priests.
