Today’s Thoughts
Monsoon hit hard
yesterday. My place got over 1” of rain between 2 big storms. It caused minor
flooding in anyone below are recovering 3 big burn areas. More rain expected
today.
I needed to get a
blood draw for 2 upcoming appointments. I arrived at 7:45 but the sonagram didn’t
arrive until 8:55. It went well, and I was out by 9:05.
I am disappointed that
I live in a country where Freedom of Speech allows a presidential candidate to
suggest his opponent in using drugs. So many of his fans have picked that up
and it is now everywhere. Talk policy or shut up.
The Surgeon General
declared that ‘gun violence’ is now a public health crisis. Of course that
brings forth Yeah from one side and Idiotic from the other side. I hope his
call for ‘warning labels’ on the internet takes hold.

Madder than a wet hen
To be "madder than a wet hen" is to
be extremely angry. It's rooted in the old-time practice of Southern farmers to
dunk brooding, quarrelsome hens in cold water so they could collect their eggs.
