Today’s Thoughts
Another hot day with the monsoon expected
to cool it off in a little while. The thunder has already started. There is
still a lot of blue sky.
The Olympics continue to take up my tv
time. I’ve seen some great races and true sportsmanship.
Gov. Tim Walz is the Harris’ VP pick.
He looks like a good choice. Now the race for President/VP of the US really
begins. Attention candidates: Keep your campaign on the issues and nothing
else. Thanks, The American voter.

American History…
Who paid for the
Statue of Liberty?
Incorrect: France Correct:
France—with some help from New York
France is
responsible for the
iconic statue, but New York City had to scramble to crowdfund enough
money to pay for the giant granite base that the statue sits on. In fact,
the Big Apple almost didn't come up with the money in time, and other cities,
such as Boston and Philadelphia—who both had the funds available—made attempts
to have the statue erected on their turf instead.
