Friday’s Thoughts
Weather guy sez monsoon taking a break
until next week. Some dark clouds seem to be disagreeing.
Our discussion group meets on Saturday to discuss High Seas Treaties. I've got some reading to do, but the topic sounds very interesting.
Kamala Harris set the stage for the
vote on Nov. 5. Now the real work begins. To get the undecided to see the
vision, believe the vision, and vote on Nov. 5.
I went out a little early to do some
grocery shopping. I wanted to beat the weekend crowd. The trip was a success. I
do wish that grocery prices were a whole lot lower. Every week it seems the total
is up and I usually buy the same stuff. I must eat, and I have the money, so I
guess I can’t complain.
When I worked in the grocery business,
a loaf of bread, on sale, was 5/$1. My dad reminded me that in his day a loaf
of bread was a nickel. At today’s prices, my dad’s nickel and my $1 won’t even
buy a loaf of bread.
Riddles
Forward I’m
heavy, but backward I’m not. What am I?

Answer
If read
forward, a ton is something that weighs 2,000 pounds — that's pretty heavy. If
you read it backward, "ton" spells "not," fulfilling the
second, trickier part of this riddle.
