Today’s Thoughts
The weather guy says
there will be strong winds…up to 55mph…this afternoon through tomorrow. I’m
hoping for the best.
My Best Buy Saga…I
like this store. I’ve bought almost all my electronics from here. A few months
ago I bought my first iWatch. I’ve been very happy with the watch and the up-graced
band…not so much for the screen protector. The first one I got at the same time
as the watch. It only lasted a few weeks. I took it back, complained nicely
about how cheaply it was made. They gave me a good deal of a better one. That
one has lasted several months but got scratched. I went in Friday to replace
it. The guy said the truck wouldn’t be in until 4pm and the stock would be out
tomorrow. I went in this morning. This morning the clerk found the new cover
and started to ring it up and added they no longer ‘install’ the covers…the
cover is about $40. I told her it was covered by warranty, and she pushed a bunch
of buttons on the register, walked away, talked to someone, came back, put in
some more numbers, and said ‘That will be $4.95 and said it was a service fee.
I took off my watch, laid it on the counter, and she said she would help me put
it on. She opened the package, cleaned the watchcase, and prepared it for the
new cover. Then she snapped the cover on and said, “I know it is hard for customers
to do this, so if I’m not busy I just do it”. I was nice to her the whole time
and thanked her for helping me. All is good.
I was happy to hear
President Biden speak about the current college demonstrations. While the conservatives
are still complaining, he said what needed to be said. Peaceful demonstrations
are fine, until they cross the line. Good point.
