Today’s Thoughts

A warm and nice spring day. Better yet, it should be nice all weekend.

I headed out to get groceries and a car wash…all successful

I’m doing 2 loads of laundry. All good.

Our discussion group topic is Science Across Borders. We should have a lively discussion tomorrow afternoon. Got some reading to do before we meet.

I am so tired of computer hackers: Here’s my latest…I was getting ready to post this and I got a pop-up claiming to be Microsoft with another pop up to call a number to fix it and to not turn off my computer. The foreigner who answered gave me his name and ID and said my phone line, computer, and smart TV had been hacked. Also that my bank records had been hacked. He connected me with my bank. The security guy that answered gave me his name and ID number. I gave him no information and told him I would contact my local bank. He said they couldn’t help. I told him I didn’t care. He hung up. I went to the bank, they checked and there were no unusual transactions, and they would report it. All this took over 90 minutes of this beautiful day, but I am sure I stopped the scam.

Did you Know?

 Interesting Facts

Fact: The first person processed at Ellis Island was a 15-year-old girl from Ireland

On January 1, 1892, Annie Moore was the first passenger to disembark at Ellis Island on its opening day. She had traveled to the United States with her two younger brothers aboard the SS Nevada after departing from Queenstown, Ireland (now known as Cobh). Another amazing fact? The busiest day at Ellis Island was April 17, 1907.
