Thoughts for the day

Another day of monsoon…no complaints. This moisture is great for the forest.

I was reminiscing yesterday and remembered my boy scout days and our annual summer trip to Camp Tahosa. Our troop would spend a week at the camp, about 1-1/2 hours from Wheat Ridge. I got on the internet machine and found out that Camp Tahosa is still open and running. I also learned it was first opened in 1938. It is nice to know that today’s scouts are building memories, just like I did.

The latest jobs report doesn’t look good for Trump. I can only say that we are living in Trump’s economy.

I was embarrassed and a little angry after RFK’s hearing. I am embarrassed because RFK lost his cool too many times during the hearings. I am angry that he lied when confirmed and little can be done now to get him out. He needs to resign now before he destroys our health care. No one with his narrow-minded and wrong views should be leading any department.

Myths from Medieval Times

Myths About Medieval Times We Totally Fell For

In medieval times, there were female rulers and female peasants, but there were also far more roles for women than just these two extremes. While patriarchal rule was generally the order of the day, there were still aspects of medieval society in which women had rights and influences.

In poorer families, women generally shared the labor with men, while in more well-heeled households, noblewomen might be seen managing an estate. There were also opportunities in religious life, as women could become nuns or abbesses.

Things That Worked Better Before They Were “Improved” by Technology

Simple Kitchen Tools

Today’s kitchen gadgets come with digital displays, Bluetooth connectivity, and apps – but do they really work better than their simple predecessors? A well-made manual can opener, egg beater, or coffee percolator could last for decades and never needed charging or troubleshooting. Sometimes the old ways really were the best ways.

Random Thoughts…

If someone offered to pay for my food and rent for the next 18 years, I'd do anything they ask of me. But I complained every time I took the trash out while living at my parent's house. Aliens invaded the Moon on July 20th, 1969.

…The End for today…
