Thoughts for the day

Another nice late summer day. Nights are just getting cooler and cooler. I slept well with a blanket next to me, just in case.

A couple of funnel clouds were seen near Window Rock. Unusual for sure. The one touchdown in San Juan County, UT. Several home areas were destroyed on the Navajo Rez. Thankfully there were no injuries.

The Panthers play the Cardinals, and the Broncos play the Colts later this afternoon.

Prescription drug advertising may soon be a thing of the past on TV, radio, the internet, and print media. There is a proposal now to do just that. I’m sure pharmacists and doctors are behind that move. Many of them have been inundated with questions if the drug on TV will relieve their symptoms. Let the professionals do their job.

I remember my dad would always enter the Publisher Clearinghouse contests, hoping for that $1000/week for life. Recently the prize was $5000/week for life. I also entered many of them when I was living on the Rez. Neither of us ever won anything. In July, PCH filed for bankruptcy. Now they have announced they will no longer be paying out those ‘for life’ payments. They are blaming bankruptcy on the huge decrease in print subscriptions. I do feel sorry for those who counted on that payment. It seems many did early retirement and have been out of the workforce for decades. That is quite a blow.

Historic Figures who died too soon…

John F. Kennedy

John F. Kenney is a name that you'll hear thrown around plenty of times. He was the youngest elected U.S. president. He had ambitious plans for both civil rights and space exploration before his assassination at the age of 46.

 Wrong Common Knowledge

Cracking Your Knuckles Causes Arthritis

Many people believe that cracking your knuckles will eventually lead to arthritis, but there’s no evidence to support this. The popping sound comes from gas bubbles in the fluid around your joints. While it might annoy the people around you, it won’t damage your hands.
