Thoughts for the day

Monsoon rain may reappear this afternoon. Clouds look like it will. Lightning is only 4 miles away

I was not surprised when Liz Cheney said she was voting for Harris. The Republican Party and Donald have treated her very badly. I was shocked when her father, Dick Cheney, is also supporting Harris.

The Buffs lost to Nebraska 10-28 yesterday. Tough loss. Cards are playing the Bills, and the 3rd Q score is tied. Broncos play the Seahawks this afternoon.

China has ended all foreign adoptions effective immediately. The government says it is stopping it due to their dwindling birth rate.

What kind of band never plays music?

Random Thoughts…

To conceal his identity a burglar covers everything but his eyes. To conceal his identity on TV only the eyes are covered.

In 1889, the word hamburger first appeared in print in the Walla Walla Union, a Walla Walla, Washington, newspaper.

“Never ruin an apology with an excuse.” – Benjamin Franklin

A Freudian slip is when your brain uses auto-correct.

Tigers have striped skin, not just striped fur.

Slang Words…

Spam

- Pop culture reference point: "Monty Python's Flying Circus" (1970)

These days, "spam" typically refers to junk mail that resides in the lower echelons of your email—or even physical—inbox. Yet the term's origin lies in a 1970 "Monty Python's Flying Circus" sketch, in which all of a restaurant's menu items devolved into "spam," a canned and precooked meat produced by Hormel. Soon, everyone in the restaurant's vicinity begins yelling "spam," which is oddly reminiscent of the feeling of being sent spam emails.
