Thoughts for the day
The day began with sunshine. Then
about 11:30 it became overcast, then thunder and lightning. Then a heavy rain
for 30 minutes. Now it is just a drizzle. Gotta love the monsoon.
I’m glad the Starliner capsule landed
safely in White Sands, NM. I have no problems with the NASA decision to have no
astronauts on board. Boeing wanted to bring them back, but their current safety
issues did not set well with NASA.
While watching the Paralympics in
Paris it was very exciting to see Hunter Woodhall win his gold medal, especially
when his wife, Tara, joined him is a kiss. Tara won a gold medal in the Paris
Olympics a couple of weeks ago.

Five-O
- Pop culture reference point: "Hawaii Five-O"
(1968)
"Five-O" is a slang term used to describe a police
officer and was memorably used in the title of the procedural TV series
"Hawaii Five-O" (which followed a police unit of the same name).
While "Hawaii Five-O" ran from 1968 until 1980, it wasn't until 1983
that the New York Times officially mentioned the term in an article
about teen slang.
