Thoughts for the day
It looks like the monsoon is taking a
break today.
Today in 1919 my mother was born. She
was an only child, as her mom had a still-born male and another male who died
in his first year. She got married at 19 and never lived alone her entire life
until my father passed. First her parents, then my dad, and during the war she
moved back with her parents. She was a great mom, a loving wife, and a good all-around
person. She lived to be 89 and is still missed.
Last night was a very good debate between
Harris and Trump. Even Fox news is saying that Kamala won the debate. I’m hoping
she also wins on Election Day.

Slang Words…
D'oh
- Pop culture reference point: "Simpsons"
(1989)
The colloquial term "d'oh" is usually used to
express frustration that things haven't turned out as planned. The phrase is
typically associated with Homer Simpson, who frequently utters it throughout
"The Simpsons."
However, it was used pre-"Simpsons," notably in a World War II-era
BBC radio show called "It's
That Man Again."
