Thoughts for the day

I got a haircut this morning as I continue to get ready for fall. I called on Tuesday to get an appointment with Crystal, the stylist I like. Her earliest morning opening was today at 9:30. I got there at 9:20. She was just finishing up a client. The client paid and called another guy back for a perm. Then she checked her computer, the same one she used to make my appointment on Tuesday. She looked at me and said she was sorry, but ‘someone’ had double booked her. I could get my cut in about 30 minutes after she put the rollers in her client, or she said Sean was very good and he could cut me now. I reluctantly chose Sean. He did a decent job. I’ll give Crystal another chance next time.

Dear Politicians, Please find a better way to fund political campaigns. I am so tired of the hourly requests for money. They come on the phone, on social media, and in the mail. This campaign season is the worst…I live in a swing state so everybody wants my vote and my money. I’m tired of feeling like I am on the  Autobahn, put me on a quiet country paved road.

Even with my soap box on funding, remember, It’s not a done deal until YOU vote. No excuses, just vote.

Random Thoughts…

Every year that sites ask me for my age I keep having to scroll down longer, I feel so old…

The bacteria carried to Mars by our rovers may one day evolve into life, and after a billion years, that life may question its origins.

People wouldn’t be so impressed with Superman if he flapped his arms while he was flying around.

Slang Words…

Hasta la vista, baby

- Pop culture reference point: "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" (1991)

It's hard to hear the phrase "hasta la vista, baby" and not think of Arnold Schwarzenegger's the Terminator. Before he first said it in the 1991 film "Terminator 2: Judgment Day," the phrase was previously used in the songs "Looking for a New Love" by Jody Watley and "Wild Thing" by Tone Loc. "Terminator 2" director James Cameron has said he was inspired by Loc's song.
