Today’s Quote
I fear not the
man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced
one kick 10,000 times.

Thoughts for the day
Things are cooling down, for sure. I’m
still wearing shorts, but I can see how those days will soon be gone.
A bat was found in one of NAU’s (the
local University) dorm rooms. It tested positive for rabies. New precautions
had to be sent to all dorm students for safety. I’m sure a lot of dorm residents
were a tad shaken up.
Up in Boulder, a hit and run driver
left the scene and drove into Folsom stadium where he damaged the grass near
the 30-yard line. He was arrested there. Thankfully the Buffs are away this
weekend, so the grass will be repaired by the next game in the stadium. It will
mess up practice a little.

Slang Words…
Life is like a box of chocolates
- Pop culture reference point:
"Forrest Gump" (1994)
In the 1994 film "Forrest
Gump," the titular character (Tom Hanks) sums up his life philosophy by
saying: "Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're
going to get."
The analogy originated in Winston
Groom's 1986 novel of the same and a 1987 novel by Haruki Murakami, who,
evidently inspired Groom, included the line in his book "Norwegian
Wood": "I always think about that when something painful comes up.
'Now I just have to polish these off, and everything'll be OK.' Life is a box
of cookies."
