Today’s Thoughts

A really nice winter day. Sunshine and warm.

After the recent maintenance, my vehicle is running very well. I am also impressed as they not only washed my vehicle after the service, they also vacuumed and wiped down the interior…great service for sure.

I had lunch with Andy and Faith. We went to a new place, a former Coco’s now The Porch. Nice ambiance, very good food, and good conversation. A few days ago, Andy rolled out of bed and sliced his ear lobe on corner table. He is fine but had to get 7 stitches in his ear lobe. Faith said the ER staff were great. They sewed him up, did a cat scan to be sure he hadn’t injured his brain, and sent him home. Now they are headed to Phoenix to celebrate Kayla’s birthday.

Our politics remains a little chaotic. The State of the Union address is over, but the media continues to keep analyzing it. It is boring. I want to hear more about Iran, more about Epstein and the hearings, and less of the speech.

The AIA [Arizona Interscholastic Association] is in trouble over fan reactions last weekend. AIA has banned Coolidge teams for participating after poor fan behavior during a weekend game against a Reservation team. At many games, on and off the reservations, are interrupting games with loud shouting against teams and refs. It is time to remember that games are for the athletes to show their skill and for spectators to enjoy the game. This poor fan behavior must be stopped.

Historic Trivia

Random Side Interests

When he wasn’t busy fighting wars and serving as the Emperor of France, Napoleon Bonaparte found the time to write a romance novel, called Clisson et Eugénie. Because why not?

The Great Debate

Some scientists still argue the facts about whether corn is a vegetable or a grain—or maybe even a fruit! Who would have thought that something so harmless could cause such a controversy?

Real Men Wear Skirts

Ancient Greek men didn't wear trousers, and they thought men from other cultures who wore them were barbaric and effeminate.
