The predicted snow has arrived. It is a wet snow and it is not sticking
on the pavement yet. It has been snowing hard, the stops, then snow a little,
then stops and then repeats. The moisture is greatly appreciated.
I’m home, awaiting the FedEx delivery of my meds. I have to sign for the
meds. My townhouse is not that big, but I must put a sign on my door, that the
delivery guy should ring the bell. A few months ago, I was home, but in the
back room and the guy simply touched the screen door. Then he left. He sent me
a photo of my screen door. They did come back the next day.
I’m still enjoying the Olympics. I remember when snowboarding was
introduced was introduced in Tokyo in 1988. Since then, they have added many
more snowboard events as the difficulty increases. I like seeing the skill.
Historic Trivia
Until the 18th century, it was common
practice to put animals on trial. What were their crimes, you ask? Rodents and
other pests were often tried for damaging crops, while pigs were often tried
for the murder of children (with at least one executed by hanging).
The guillotine was used as a method of execution in France until Sept. 10,
1977. The last person executed this way was Hamida Djandoubi, a Tunisian
immigrant convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend.
