Another day of snow. A couple of inches are sticking and snowfall is varying
from light to heavy. It’s OK, it’s
winter and we are at 7000’. All the schools have closed for this snow day.
There are so many tributes coming in for Jessie Jackson, who passed at 84
and Robert Duvall at 95. Both will be missed for their contribution to society.
This is the first time in a century that Lent, Ramadan, and the Lunar New
Year are happening at the same time. I hope everyone has a peaceful time during
their observances.
Anderson Cooper is leaving 60 Minutes after almost 20 years. He
says he wants to spend more time with his 2 children. I can respect him for
that decision. I’m sure that the change to new management at CBS did have some
weight in his decision.

In the 19th century, dentures were often made using the teeth
of deceased soldiers.
A famous example? Looters, uh, looted the teeth of the
thousands of dead soldiers at the Battle of Waterloo and sold them for top
dollar.
Real teeth were in such demand, in fact, that many poor
people sold their teeth right out of their mouths.
Humans, by the way, have been cleaning their teeth for thousands of years. For example, Egyptians invented toothpaste over 5,000 years ago using things like powdered ox hooves, eggshells, pumice, and water.
