Today’s Thoughts

It looks like a day of sunshine and blue sky to help the snow melt.

Our discussion group meets today. We read several articles that explain very well the differences that have come about in Trump 2.0. I now have a much better understanding of how Trump and ‘America First‘ changes the world view that has been dominant since WWII. I may not agree with some of the ideas, I still have a hard time understanding how they are being implemented.

The Olympics continues to keep me impressed with the determination these athletes have. The aerial ski events always have me on the edge of my recliner. In my younger days I could barely do a flip off the low dive board or on a trampoline.

Historic Trivia

In June of 1520, England’s Henry VIII and France’s Francis I threw a joint 18-day party that cost $19 million by today’s standards. It was so expensive because the two leaders kept trying to outdo each other. Each feast served 50 different dishes of the time’s finest and rarest foods, including swans and dolphins.

Chain letters have their origins in ancient times — even Ancient Egypt's Book of the Dead included a section that promised "great benefit...in heaven and earth" to anyone who copies a specific image.
