Thoughts for the day

A nice fall day, but a little windy…thankfully no sand blowing. I’m just sitting here awaiting a FedEx delivery of my meds that are making me well.

There is still no end in sight, following the latest vote by the Senate. Now some Republicans are saying this shutdown could go on until after Thanksgiving. It is time to stop Congressional paychecks until the shutdown ends…and include the White House residents when the pay is stopped. Do the jobs you were elected for and end the shutdown. Americans are being hurt everyday as programs are not being funded, prices keep going up, help from the Feds  is not there. Shameful.

2025 Anniversaries

1975 Fall of Saigon, 50 Years

On April 30, 1975, North Vietnamese tanks reached the Presidential Palace in Saigon, ending the Vietnam War. Operation Frequent Wind, April 29 to 30, lifted thousands by helicopter to U.S. ships like USS Midway. The Midway is now a museum in San Diego with a Huey and a Sea Knight on deck. Deck signs post rail heights and no-climb zones, so follow them on busy weekends. The anniversary connects TV images of rooftop evacuations with timelines taught in U.S. history classes.

Americans Missing From Your History Textbook

Marie Van Brittan Brown’s Home Security System

Working as a nurse on late shifts, Marie Van Brittan Brown mapped fear to a plan. She patented a home security system in 1969 that placed a camera behind peepholes, routed images to interior monitors, and linked to a remote door latch and police alert. The design set the template for closed circuit surveillance in homes and small businesses. It did not sell fear. It offered control, evidence, and precious minutes that can separate a scare from a tragedy.

Random Thoughts…

The nursery rhyme never said Humpty Dumpty was an egg.

This world is so complicated, we must be educated for 18 years of our life, just to work at KFC.

The oldest person on earth has been alive for every birthday of every person in the world.

Eat whatever you want. If someone criticizes you about your weight - eat him too!
