Today’s Thoughts
I’m calling it a breezy day because I
can’t write windy one more day.
Oops…it turns out that even through
the shutdown, the secret service agents are being paid. That is a good thing,
and I apologize as I repeated incorrect news they were not being paid.
I agree with Trump when he said on 60
Minutes last night that one crazy person should not stop the event and that
it should be held within 30 days. It will be difficult, but it needs to happen.
It is also a good thing that King Charles and his Queen are visiting the US
just days after the craziness at the Correspondence Dinner.
My body is producing some deep lung
mucus. It’s a pain but so far, the OTC meds are helping. The drainage is also making
me much less hungry, but I am doing lots of liquids and some chicken noodle
soup. Today is better than yesterday.
Interesting Trivia
Fate
or Random Chance?
Some
things just aren’t meant to be, and sometimes that's actually for the best. A
New York woman decided to end it all by jumping off the Empire State Building’s
86th floor, only to be blown back safely onto the floor below by a strong wind.
Let’s all hope she took advantage of this new lease on life that she was lucky
enough to get!
After
all, that's the sort of freak occurrence that does tend to drive people to
religion, or at the very least some kind of epiphany.

Here's a fact for the ages: a singing birthday card has more computing power than the entire Allied forces had during WWII.

Random historical facts you didn’t
know
Cleopatra was of Greek origin
Many
might not know this, but the famous Egyptian ruler was of Greek origin and a
descendant of Alexander the Great’s Macedonian general, Ptolemy.
Italian doctors invented a fake disease
to save Jews from the Holocaust
In 1943,
a mysterious and frightening illness spread through Nazi-occupied Rome. But it
was revealed 60 years later by Italian doctors that they invented ‘Syndrome K’
to save Italian Jews. At least 20 people were saved from deportation.
