Thoughts for
the day
It’s a little cooler but still nice weather.
Even since I don’t change clocks for DST, the national channels on my
cable company do. It is a pain, but thankfully I have DVR so I can watch shows when
I want to.
Broncos beat the Texans. Yeah! Cards play the Cowboys tonight. Go Cards.
Last night 60 Minutes ran an interview with Trump. I felt the
interview was a little too cautious…especially from that show, but we did hear
Trump’s own words. Frightening.
Yesterday I went on line and was checking my purchases before the bill gets
paid on Nov. 12. On my Chase card I found that my dental crown was charged
twice, for the same amount when I got the temporary. This morning I called the
dentist and their records showed only one charge for that procedure. I called
the bank. It took 4 calls, and instead of waiting for 10 minutes, I had them
call me back. I had to add a phone number to my phone so I could get the call
without it automatically going to voice mail. When they called, I had to go
through at least seven questions before a human, who was a 2nd language
learner, agreed there were two charges. It takes up to 2 days to fix it. Then I
will get a letter, telling me it is resolved. According to the guy, the charge
will not be part of my payment on the 12th, but if the double charge
is determined to be correct, it will show up again on my next statement. So
much for how great technology really is.
Animals From Native American Legends
And What They Symbolize
Buffalo
For many
Plains tribes, the buffalo was the heart of survival, providing food, clothing,
and shelter. Its migrations set the rhythm for essential ceremonies, hunting,
and gathering.
Buffalo
stories teach gratitude and stewardship, reminding everyone to take only what
they need and waste nothing. Special dances and rituals thank the buffalo's
spirit each year, building a culture that values the gift of life and community
support.
Boomers Were Forced to Memorize These
Facts—And They’re All Useless Now…
George Washington Had Wooden Teeth
This was one of those fun historical
“facts” teachers loved to share. But surprise—Washington never had wooden
teeth. His dentures were made from a mix of human and animal teeth, ivory, and
even metal. A little less charming, huh? Yet, for years, we confidently
repeated the wooden teeth story like it was absolute truth. It’s funny how some
myths take on a life of their own, even in the classroom.
Random Thoughts…
Theme
parks can snap a crystal-clear picture of you on a roller coaster at 70 mph,
but bank cameras can’t get a clear shot of a robber standing still.
Which
orange came first—the color or the fruit?
If
tomatoes are fruit, then ketchup is jam.
Why
aren’t iPhone chargers called Apple juice?
