Thoughts for the day

Day 43 of the current shutdown. Hopefully the last day of the shutdown

My phlebotomy was successful yesterday. It took almost an hour, as my blood did not want to leave my body through my port. They had to use 3 different vacuum bottles to get out the blood. I’m not complaining, just a little frustrated.

What happened with the shutdown? It looks like the Dems caved on their demand on healthcare extensions. I’m not cheering or crying, I’m just waiting for this mess to play itself out. Everyday Americans continue to suffer from the cost of healthcare, gas, groceries… Fix it sooner than later.

Today is the day AZ Rep Grijalva is sworn in after her October win to fill her father’s seat in Congress. About time. Hopefully, they vote on ending the shutdown after she is sworn in.

Animals From Native American Legends And What They Symbolize

Beaver

Stories celebrate beavers for their building skills and hard work. By watching beavers build dams and lodges, tribes learned about planning, teamwork, and taking care of the land.

Beavers show that creating strong homes and communities takes effort and cooperation. In art and stories, the beaver reminds people of the rewards of working together and improving things for the next generation.

Boomers Were Forced to Memorize These Facts—And They’re All Useless Now…

Chameleons Change Color to Blend in with Their Surroundings

We all thought chameleons were nature’s ultimate camouflage artists, shifting colors to match whatever they touched. But that’s not how it works! Chameleons change color mostly due to mood, temperature, or communication, not as a disguise. Some can turn vibrant shades of red, yellow, or even blue—not exactly great camouflage in a green jungle. Yet, this fun but misleading “fact” was drilled into us like a basic law of nature.

Random Thoughts

You see people every single day that you’ll never see again.

It’s likely that over 99% of the trees that you look at will still be here when you’re dead.

We go to work by car each day, taking the same route, but almost never encounter the same cars along the way.

Having a toddler in their “Why?” phase makes you realize how much you know and don’t know about things.
