Thoughts for
the day
The weather just doesn’t want to be November. The local ice cream truck
still comes through the neighborhood every afternoon.
The Dodgers have their Series win…for the second time in a row. It took
extra innings, again…but a win is a win.
The Colorado Buffaloes are having a bad season. They lost again on
Saturday.
Flagstaff also has those Flock Cameras that are so controversial. The
Flagstaff city council is beginning another debate on their use. The cameras
take a picture of every vehicle license plate that passes one of their many cameras
around any given city. They say this assists police in tracking down criminals.
Here in Flagstaff, they have helped police in several local serious crimes. I
must say it sure sounds like 1984’s Big Brother. With all the AI stuff that
invades our privacy, I am on the fence as to whether these are OK or bad.
Animals From Native American Legends
And What They Symbolize
Eagle
The eagle is one of the most respected and
sacred animals in Native American culture. Soaring higher than other birds, the
eagle is thought to carry prayers to the creator, acting like a bridge between
this world and the spirit realm above.
Eagle feathers are treasured and only given in special ceremonies to honor acts of bravery or leadership and remind people to aim for a higher purpose, vision, and strong spiritual connection.
Boomers Were Forced to Memorize These
Facts—And They’re All Useless Now…
Blood Is Blue Inside Your Body Until It Hits
Oxygen
At some point, a teacher probably told you that blood is blue until it reaches the air, which is why veins look blue under your skin. Sounds scientific, right? Nope! Blood is always red—veins just appear blue because of how light interacts with your skin. Yet, for some reason, this myth spread like wildfire, and we all had to memorize it like a hard fact. If only we’d questioned it back then!
Random Thoughts…
I hate when women have writing on their shirt's because I don't want to
risk reading it.
It's amazing how different the phrases "alcohol free" and "free
alcohol" are.
I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.
That moment when you need your glasses in order to find your glasses.
