Today’s Reflection:

A great summer day with some possible rain later.

I had lunch with Andy and Faith. Good lunch, good conversation. We had a good time. Our waiter is an NAU student from Lakota territory in South Dakota. Nice guy.

The Daily Show celebrated 30 years on the air. I was a late comer to the show but remain a great fan.

The war in Iran is becoming a never-ending war. This is not what I thought would happen.

Historical events

25 Jul History

Cool to know:

OMG

Previously only known from the ‘90s jargon of internet chatrooms, in the early 2000s, the earliest known use of the acronym OMG was discovered in a letter written in 1917 to future prime minister Winston Churchill by John Fisher, who had served as the British Royal Navy's First Sea Lord during the early years of World War I.

Picture of the Day:

Boom Boom. “Cats are bumped on the wall suddenly. It was like a cartoon, boom boom. Such a funny moment.” Kenichi Morinaga

The Cat category and overall winning image definitely has a cartoon vibe. It’s as if these two were chasing one another, Tom and Jerry style, only to collide, head-on, leading to two exaggeratedly compacted bodies. I fully expect an accordion to play in the moments after this collision.

Tricky US Trivia:

Question: What is the busiest airport in the U.S.?

Answer: Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport
