Today’s Reflection:

It’s been a busy day. The monsoon has arrived, with some nice showers. The female rain is so nice.

I started the day with a blood draw, then stopped off at the Dr. office to get my letter for a handicap placard. Headed to MVD and registered. It was easy and quick. I got a paper placard until the hard plastic one arrives in a few days. On the way to the blood draw I got stuck behind a crew that was picking up traffic cones after painting new lanes. A ten-minute drive turned into a 25 minute one.

Then it was time for my scan to see how my lymph nodes have recovered. This is a long process, an injection of dye, wait 45 minutes and then 20 minutes in the scan machine. It was easy and very boring. The tech was nice and it was nothing compared to what I had done when I was in the hospital. I’m glad I did it.

I can’t keep up with Trump. He is now charging a 20% FEE to go through the Strait of Hormuz. Even his ‘team’ have said that charging anything to be in International Waters is against International law. Trump could care less. Our country is being laughed at by many countries…including our allies.

Historical events

July 15 History

Good to know:

FLY

Fly was first used as an adjective way back in 1724, originally in the sense of someone being keenly aware or attentive. But the even more contemporary-sounding use of fly to describe someone or something particularly fashionable or stylishly striking is almost as old: "a fly white petticoat" was mentioned in the memoirs of an English highwayman named John Poulter in 1753.

Professional Honorable Mention: Red-tailed Hawk
A Red-tailed Hawk holds an open-mouthed chipmunk in its yellow talons, the rodent’s head and front paws peeking out from a snowy perch. The raptor’s head bends low as it looks at its chipmunk prey, a piece of fur in its blue, pointed bill. Steve Jessmore/Audubon Photography Awards/2021

Tricky US Trivia:

Question: What was the only state to ever have been ruled by a queen?
