Today’s Thoughts
A nice spring day
here at 7000’.
I’m very
disappointed that Gov. Christie Noam of SD decided to shoot her 14-month-old dog
because he was untrainable. There are
60+ animal shelters that would have accepted the dog. Wonder if Trump will
still consider her for VP?
One of the Tonalea
parents texted me this morning that his son was hit and killed by a vehicle
near Cow Springs. He had been a student when I was at Red Lake. Then there was
an emergency alert on my phone about a Moenkopi man who was shooting at
officers and fleeing to Cameron where he set off more shots. Scary.
Since I was in
college during the campus protests in 1968, I am having a hard time watching
the current campus protests. I don’t fully understand the reason for the
protests, but I sure hope this is not a repeat of Kent State. When I was taking
classes for my administrative credentials in the late 1970’s, there was never a
class on how to deal with protesters on campus. A little wrong move by either
side can lead to much bigger problems.
Did you Know?
Interesting Facts
Fact: There are parts of Africa in all four hemispheres
For people whose
education was largely focused on the Western world, it may be surprising to
find out exactly how huge the continent of Africa is. For instance, it spans
all four hemispheres and covers nearly 12 million square miles. Here’s another
interesting fact: Do you know the only city that
straddles two continents?
