Today’s Thoughts
Blue sky, fairly nice, a little breeze.
It’s springtime. College campus demonstrations are nothing unusual. In my
day it was to protest the Vietnam. Now it’s all about the Middle East issues. I
hate to see it, but it looks like the police learned some lessons from 1968 and
know better how to prevent violence. I’m
hoping for peace at these demonstrations so each side can say what they want.
A couple of nights ago I was fixing a Knorr side dish for dinner. It was
still a little runny so I left it on the stove after I took out my portion.
Sadly, I forgot to turn off the burner. As I as cleaning up I smelled something
burning. Yep, the side dish was a lot of burned pasta stuck to the bottom of
the corning ware I was using. I soaked it, then added Dawn Power spray, let it
soak. The next day a scrubbed it, soaked the few burnt places, added mor Dawn,
let it soak. The day after that I added a lot of water and boiled water in the
dish, scraped off more black. Now it’s in the dishwasher and I hope I learned a
good lesson.

Interesting Facts
A Litter Of Kittens Can
Have Different Fathers
Cats are induced ovulators, meaning the act of copulation triggers the release
of multiple eggs from the ovaries into the uterus. The eggs remain in
utero for 24 hours. If the female mates with multiple males, each egg can
technically be fertilized by sperm from a different donor, called superfecundation.
Simply
put, it means that each kitten in a litter can have a different father.
However, just because each kitten looks different doesn't mean they
actually do have different fathers. Sometimes that's just how cat genetics are.
