‡‡My Rambling Thoughts‡‡
Did my normal Wednesday shopping. Today is Old People’s Discount day at my grocery store, so I even saved some $$. With their card the first Wed. of each month gives us old people a 10% discount on everything…including sale items. Good day to stock up on essentials.

Mary is in the Hebrides with her brother and sister-in-law and Cheryl is headed to CA to spend Easter with her son and his family. So that cancels our weekly lunch. All good.

THIS IS NOT NORMAL:
Our President’s learning curve is way too steep. He is the President and he needs to deal with the mess in Syria. For anyone with a brain, we all know that he has many quotes out there that he said we should stay out of Syria’s business and now he is blaming Obama for not doing more. Really?!?

‡‡ Joke For The Day‡‡
Three kids argue, whose father is the fastest.

One says, "My father is the fastest, he can overtake an arrow he shot with a bow."

The second one says, "My father is even faster - he can shoot a gun and then run to catch the bullet before it hits anything."

The third kid says, "You actually don't understand what speed is. My father is even quicker! He finishes work at 4:30 pm, but he's back home by 3:45 pm almost every day."

‡‡Yep, It Really Happened‡‡
Houston police responding to multiple calls about a man duct-taped to a yield sign arrived to find a man who had lost a bet -- and they nearly Tased his friend.

Police responded to an intersection in northeast Houston where drivers reported seeing a man duct taped to a yield sign. They arrived to find a second man with a knife approaching the taped individual.

"Drop the knife or I'll Taser you," an officer shouted at the man.

Police soon discovered the man was actually attempting to cut down his friend, Miguel Chavez, who had been taped to the sign as punishment for losing a bet.

Chavez said he lost a bet he placed on the Houston Warriors/Golden State Warriors game.

He said his punishment was to either allow himself to be duct taped to a street sign or a car, so he decided to flip a coin.

The police helped Chavez down from the pole and gave him a ride home. No charges were filed in the incident.

‡‡Somewhat Useless Information‡‡
When the moon formed 4.6 billion years ago, it was 14,000 miles (22,530 km) from Earth. Now it's more than 280,000 miles (450,000 km) away. The moon looked three times larger when it was closer to Earth.

The moon's gravity has slowed the speed of Earth's rotation. Long ago, it was much faster and days were much shorter.

The same side of the moon always faces Earth because the moon takes the same length of time to rotate once as it does to travel all way around Earth

‡‡How our states were named‡‡
New Mexico
New Mexico and the country it used to be part of, Mexico, both take their name from Nahuatl Mexihco. The meaning of the word is unclear, but there are several hypotheses. It might reference Mextli , an alternate name for Huitzilopochtli, the god of war and patron of the Aztecs, and mean “place where Mextli  lives”. It’s also been suggested that the word is a combination of mtztli (“moon”), xictli (“center”) and the suffix -co (“place”) and means “place at the center of the moon” (in reference to Lake Texcoco).

1962
Several years before Taco Bell first opened, founder Glen Bell opened Taco Tia and Bell's Drive-In around San Bernardino, California. In 1962, the first location under the Taco Bell name opened in Downey, California. The eatery's flagship item, at the time, was known as a "Tay-Koh." Just five years later in 1967, Taco Bell celebrated the opening of its 100th restaurant. The fast-food Mexican joint went public in 1970, with 325 restaurants. In 1978, Glen Bell became a shareholder of PepsiCo Inc. by selling more than 800 of its locations to the company. Source: Taco Bell

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
