Today’s Thoughts

Wind advisory from today through tomorrow. Not unusual for March.

The Page, AZ public library has been named 2023’s Best Small Library in America. Congratulations. The library is invested in many outreach programs in the area around Page. This includes parts of the Navajo Nation and Southern Utah. This is the only library that serves these areas. While Page has a population of 7500, the library currently has18,000 current cardholders.

Fox, MSNBC, and CNN are running Fani Willis Hearing live. Those watching the many days of hearings are seeing how the sausage is made. I’m not sure how many voters want to see it. I fear most voters just want to know the outcome. I am interested in seeing it, but 2 hours at a time is all I can take.

UNESCO sites in America…

Grand Canyon National Park

Located in Arizona and designated a World Heritage Site in 1979, the Grand Canyon is a must-visit. It's a natural feature made about 17 million years ago, encompassing over 277 miles. Note: Years ago I did a 14-day 244 mile non-motorized boat trip in July with my good friend Bob.

America’s Top Attractions

1930s: Chrysler Building, New York City, New York

A beacon of Art Deco design, construction of New York City’s Chrysler Building began in 1928 and was completed in 1930. As the tallest building in the world, the gleaming skyscraper with its distinctive spire, which initially had a public viewing room on its 71st floor, instantly lured sightseers. However, that claim was short-lived as the taller Empire State Building was completed 11 months later, but it's still the tallest brick building in the world.

Historical Facts about Native Americans…

Many Native American Warriors Were Women

While the media often depicted only Native American men going to battle, that wasn't really the case. Many Native American warriors were actually women.

One of the most famous female warriors was Buffalo Calf Road Woman from the Northern Cheyenne tribe. She fought in both the Battle of Rosebud and the Battle of Little Bighorn.

“Nothing is as important as passion. No matter what you want to do with your life, be passionate. The world doesn’t need any more gray. On the other hand, we can’t get enough color. Mediocrity is nobody’s goal and perfection shouldn’t be either. We’ll never be perfect. But remember these three P’s: Passion + Persistence = Possibility.”
