Thoughts
for the day
I got my car washed and stopped to
pick up some essentials.
I got my new vehicle insurance bill.
It is $40 more than my last bill. I have no accidents, no tickets, no claims
and it still goes up a lot. I just don’t get it.
My brother texted this morning saying ‘Dodged
the bullet. All good.’ So, Milton didn’t do much except scare them. No
complaints here.
I have always awoken in the morning
with a good attitude. I try to find the good in everything. That philosophy as
done me well so I don’t plan on changing. I think that is one of the reasons I
want to see Harris win. I try and watch various news sources for my news. I am
just tired of ‘the end is near’ on the conservative news channels. The election
can’t come soon enough

One of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient
World: Mausoleum at Halicarnassus in (now) Bodrum, Turkey built in 353-350 BC,
destroyed by earthquakes and abandoned by the 1400s AD. We still use the word,
mausoleum, for above-ground tombs.

American Facts…
Native American Tribes Have a
Long History of Environmental Stewardship
For millennia, Native American
tribes have practiced sustainable land management and conservation. Many indigenous
cultures view the Earth as a sacred entity, and their traditional ecological
knowledge has played a vital role in preserving biodiversity and natural
resources.
The Menominee Nation of
Wisconsin, for example, has managed its forests sustainably for over 150 years,
ensuring a continuous supply of timber while maintaining the health of the
ecosystem.
In the Pacific Northwest,
tribes like the Nisqually and Yakama have been at the forefront of efforts to
restore salmon populations and protect watersheds. These examples highlight the
valuable contributions Native American communities have made to environmental
stewardship.
