Thoughts for the day

I headed out this morning to get my flu shot…that’s 2 down (COVID & Flu), all that is left is RSV. My doctor told me not to do RSV last year ‘cause it was new and there were still questions. Them questions must have been answered cause now he says to get one.

I’ve still got stuff to do before I head for Mexico, but I’m slowly getting there. I’ll be ready when the time comes. I’ve done many trips to their place, and every time we do something new to me. This time will be no different.

I watched the VP debate. Listening to the commentary, everyone saw a different debate…no wonder there is no clear winner. The right is saying that Vance won by a landslide. The left is saying Walz was the clear winner. Only the voters will tell us on election day.

The Middle East is awaiting the retaliation from yesterday’s strike. I really can’t imagine what it is like to live in a war zone.

 Riddles

The 22nd and 24th presidents of the United States of America had the same parents but were not brothers. How can this be possible

Random Thoughts…

·         We live in a world where lemonade is made from Artificial Flavors and Furniture Polish is made from real Lemons.

·         The Canadian $100 bill featured an Asian woman on the back using a microscope. People complained that it was stereotyping Asians as being good at technology. She was replaced with a Caucasian woman, and then more people complained that Caucasians were being favored.

·         US President #20 James Garfield (1881-1881) President Garfield was shot by Charles Guiteau, a lawyer upset with Garfield because he denied Guiteau a diplomatic post. He probably died from the doctors’ poking and prodding and infection, as the bullet was lodged in a NOT life-threatening location!

·         Chevy Chase – Real Name: Cornelius Crane Chase

Native American Facts…

Native Americans Have Made Significant Contributions to Science & Medicine

Throughout history, Native Americans have made groundbreaking contributions to various fields of science and medicine. One notable example is Susan La Flesche Picotte, an Omaha woman who became the first Native American to earn a medical degree in 1889. She went on to provide healthcare to her community and opened a hospital on the Omaha reservation.

Other trailblazers include Bertha Parker Pallan Cody, considered the first Native American woman archaeologist, and Mary Golda Ross, a Cherokee aerospace engineer who played a crucial role in NASA’s early space programs. These pioneers paved the way for future generations of Native American scientists and healers.
