Thoughts for the day

Riddles

How many bananas can you eat if your stomach is empty?

Random Thoughts…

It is nice to be back in Flag after a week of birthday celebrations with my brother, his wife Laura, his birth brother (Lenny), Eleanor (Lenny’s wife) and a multitude of their friends from Mexico. We all had a great time. We traveled most days to parts of Yucatan I hadn’t seen in my previous visits. On the third day, we got home late. I was walking to the portico when a few of the 15 rescue dogs greeted us…a very usual occurrence. Somehow one dog got twisted up between my legs, and down I went. Richard said it looked like a slow-motion fall. I bruised one knee and the other hand. I have very little pain. My knee is a little week so I cut down on much of the walking the rest of the week, but it was all OK.

While the trip was amazing, it began to be a tad frustrating. My shuttle pick-up was to be at 2:40AM. At 3AM the shuttle had not arrived. All phone calls went to voice mail and say some crap about go to the website. At 3:45AM I drove to the office, and no one was there. I drove my vehicle to the Phoenix airport, 2.5 hours, found parking through the construction at the airport, and made my flight. I called and they cancelled my reservation…after sending me a survey to see how my ride was. In the end it was all good, I got a refund, and they paid for my gas and parking. It really is a good company. They story is the driver overslept. Haha.

More tomorrow on the trip.

Native American Facts…

Native American Tribes Have a Long Tradition of Serving in the U.S. Military

Native Americans have a proud history of military service, with many tribes having fought alongside U.S. forces in every major conflict since the Revolutionary War. In fact, Native Americans serve in the U.S. military at a higher rate per capita than any other ethnic group.

During World War I, around 12,000 Native Americans served in the U.S. military despite not being recognized as U.S. citizens at the time. In World War II, over 44,000 Native Americans served, including the famous Navajo Code Talkers, who used their language to create an unbreakable code.

Today, Native American veterans are honored for their bravery and sacrifice, with many tribes holding special ceremonies and events to recognize their service.

Historic Events
