Thoughts
for the day
Another nice fall day…warm.
I had my annual Medicare check. As the
doctor said: You are doing well for a man of your age.
Faith and Andy took me to lunch for
all the work I’ve been helping them with. Much appreciated. They are finally
headed back to Phoenix. Andy had given his oldest truck to his nephew for his
senior year. I think Andy just wanted a new truck…A nice 4x4 dual cab White
Ford 150. It’s a nice truck.

The difference between a cemetery and
a graveyard is cemeteries are considered burial grounds while the older term
graveyards is considered burial grounds attached to a church.

Chipotle is not its own type of chile,
it’s actually smoke-dried jalapeño.
Native
American Facts…
The Trail of Tears Resulted in
the Deaths of Thousands
In one
of the darkest chapters of U.S. history, the Indian Removal Act of 1830 led to
the forced relocation of tens of thousands of Native Americans from their
ancestral lands in the southeastern United States. The Cherokee, Muscogee
(Creek), Seminole, Chickasaw, and Choctaw nations were among those affected.
The
grueling journey, known as the Trail of Tears, spanned over 5,000 miles and
took place under harsh conditions. Many Native Americans died from exposure,
disease, and starvation along the way.
It’s
estimated that of the 15,000 Cherokee who were forcibly removed, around 4,000
perished during the trek to present-day Oklahoma. This tragic event remains a
painful reminder of the injustices inflicted upon Native American communities.
