Thoughts for the day

I had a good lunch with Faith and Andy. Great conversation, good food.

I am slowly getting ready for my trip to Mexico.

The funeral for my friend will be Saturday, here in Flag. I’ll be able to attend without much driving. Andy and Faith will also be there.

Random Thoughts…

The North Star is the 49th brightest star in the sky.

The Wright Brother’s flight was in Kill Devil Hills, not Kitty Hawk. Kitty Hawk was where the brothers sent their message of success to their father.

The crack from a whip is produced by a small sonic boom.

Someday an old man will say “back in my day we only had iPhones and VR, not this futuristic useless stuff.”

Yen Sid, the sorcerer in “Fantasia”, is just “Disney” spelled backward.

Native American Facts…

Native American Art Has Influenced Modern American Culture

From the bold geometric designs of Navajo rugs to the intricate beadwork of the Plains Indians, Native American art has had a profound impact on modern American culture. Many of the motifs and patterns found in indigenous art have been adapted and incorporated into fashion, interior design, and popular culture.

The work of contemporary Native American artists like Fritz Scholder, T.C. Cannon, and Jaune Quick-to-See Smith has challenged stereotypes and brought indigenous perspectives to the forefront of the art world. These artists have used their work to address issues of identity, politics, and cultural heritage while also pushing the boundaries of traditional Native American art forms.

Their contributions have enriched American art and culture.
