‡‡My
Rambling Thoughts‡‡
Finally
a really nice spring day. Nice walk.
Last
year I bought a hanging birdbath that I connected to my back railing. It worked
great. Now, three times in the past week, it has fallen to the ground. Still
wondering why it comes loose…squirrels?...kids?…wind? I tried putting duct tape around the rail and
the holder…no luck. Today I tried plastic zip connectors. Gotta find something
that works. To get to my back area, I have to walk across the crazy rocks that
the HOA put in. Each rock are at least 6” across, and are rough volcanic type
rock. They are almost impossible to walk across. And I have to walk over/across
about 25’. Grouchy old man mood on these rocks.
I
am still laughing…everyone know that Fox News has the #1 largest audience.
Agreed that many don’t know why. I was surfing the other day and landed on FOX
news. Again, I don’t now why. But they had a story they claimed would ‘never be
heard on mainstream’ channels. Seems to
me if you have the largest audience, you ARE mainstream. The definition of ‘mainstream’
is 1. the ideas, attitudes, or activities that are regarded as normal or
conventional; the dominant trend in opinion, fashion, or the arts. Oops, guess
they aren’t mainstream. Hmmm

‡‡ Joke
For The Day‡‡
A
little boy came home eating a big candy bar. Seeing the candy bar, his mother
remembered he had already spent all his allowance money. Surprised, she asked
him where he got it.
"I bought it at the store with the dollar you gave me," he said.
"But that dollar was for Sunday School," his mother replied.
Smiling, the boy said, "I know, Mom, but the Pastor met me at the door and
got me in for free!"

‡‡Yep,
It Really Happened‡‡
*--------
You Gotta Do What You Gotta Do --------*
A 10-year-old Florida girl pried open the jaws of a 9-foot alligator that
latched onto her leg while she was swimming, investigators said. The Florida
Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's report of the incident said the
girl and four family members were among about a dozen people swimming in Lake
Mary Jane in Orange County when an alligator attacked. The alligator bit down
on the girl's calf and knee, but she was able to get free by prying its jaws
open, the report said. A lifeguard on duty assisted the girl and her injuries,
which were described as non-life-threatening, were treated at the scene before
her family drove her to the hospital. The alligatorwas trapped shortly after
the incident, but Matt Suedmeyer, the manager of Orange County Parks and Recreation
said the waterfront will remain closed this week out of "an abundance of
caution."

‡‡Somewhat
Useless Information‡‡
Steam
was successfully adapted to power boats in 1802 and railways in 1829. Later,
some of the first automobiles were powered by steam.
French
aviation pioneer Gustave de Ponton d'Amecourt built a steam-driven model
helicopter in 1863. He also coined the word 'helicopter'.
Although different sources such as coal, nuclear, geothermal and solar thermal,
are used to heat the water, nearly 90 percent of the electricity we use is
generated through the use of steam.

Lucy
Pickens
Who
is Lucy Pickens, you may ask? Well, she was the first lady of South Carolina in
the mid-19th century, and her face started showing up on money in the 1860s.
However, this currency was only in the Confederate States of America, so if
you've never heard of her, you're probably not the only one. Pocahontas would
appear on U.S. $20 bills in 1865, shortly after Lucy's debut in 1862. Source:

Disclaimer: All opinions are mine…feel free to agree or disagree.
All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with
at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes
and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is
therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian
calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
