Today’s Thoughts

There was a couple of inches last night. The sunshine is helping melt the snow. Yesterday the HOA snowplowed the road 3 times. They were back at 9am to do it again. The sidewalk was cleared today by 10am. Now we await the next storm on Saturday. The only mall in Flagstaff opened this morning with regular hours. Things are sure trying to get back to normal.

I called Caremark today to be sure my script was processed. After talking to 2 reps, it was finally released. They said I needed a new card with the script member number. After at least 8 reps and 45 min., the bottom line was to go online for a card through AZblue. I went to the website, but it wouldn’t take my information. Called the help line and after 5 minutes online, I told the lady I just wanted a new card. She said she would mail one to me and I should get it within 7-10 days. Finally!!

I’m still trying to digest yesterday’s new about Biden. Glad the special council didn’t find criminality on his handling of documents. I wonder why he said no criminal charges for the elderly man with memory issues. Then Biden did a press briefing, rare in his administration. In my opinion he bumbled when he seemed upset by some of the questions from the press. He should remain above that. I too am now wondering if he has the vitality to be President. I hope I can answer that question before the election.

Weird History…

Heroin Was Used As A Children's Cough Remedy

Heroin is a drug today that is known for its highly addictive properties and potential to cause serious health issues. However, it wasn't always this way - in the late 19th century, heroin was actually used as a children's cough remedy! It was marketed as a non-addictive alternative to morphine and even sold over the counter without a prescription. Although it was thought to be safe at the time, we now know that it can lead to addiction and other dangerous side effects. Despite this, there are still some people who remember when it was considered an acceptable form of medicine for young children.

Civil War Facts

The capture of Atlanta

Union Gen. William T. Sherman captured the city of Atlanta on Sept. 2, 1864. His "March to the Sea" strategy meant destroying everything he encountered on his march through Georgia and the Carolinas to interrupt the Confederate troops' supply chain. His men destroyed every crop, railroad, bridge, and factory they found on their path.
