Today’s Reflection:

Another day of rain. This is so unusual but greatly appreciated. There was a gentle rain most of the night that continued until almost noon. Now it’s just partly cloudy.

AI remains unregulated. Trump has the solution: rename AI to Super Intelligence and that will solve the issues. Everyone recognizes that this is simply a distraction. Regulation is needed and it is needed now.

Go Fund Me has always been questionable. Many who donate don’t realize that the company charges 2.9% + 30¢ for each transaction. They also have strict guidelines. Recently a fund was set up for an 82-year-old man hauling heavy lost airline luggage back to the owner, to support his wife of 57 years with cancer. The fund received $750,000. Then the company returned all donations because the fund said a neighbor was doing the fund, but no such neighbor existed and the daughter had made the video, used a fake neighbor…as suggested by an AI app to be more successful. Now the lady still has cancer, the family is still broke, and many wonder even more about Go Fund Me.

Cool to know:

Fall leaf colors are present year-round.

The red, orange and yellow pigments only show once chlorophyll — the chemical that makes leaves green — breaks down in autumn. Check out these fall quotes for a little inspiration.

Picture of the Day:

Kasilof River, Alaska, United States

Seen from above, the Kasilof River winds like a ribbon of turquoise through Alaska"s Kenai Peninsula in the United States. The vivid blue water comes from glacial silt carried downstream from Tustumena Lake, one of the largest freshwater lakes in the state. Flowing about 17 miles before emptying into Cook Inlet, the river is shorter than its famous neighbour, the Kenai, but no less remarkable.
