My Rambling Thoughts
What a crazy way to start the week. I headed
out for a doctor’s appointment...it was 56° and windy. Tevas, short sleeve
shirt. First time appointments are always long…papers to fill out, meet with
the billing person, meet with the PA and finally the MD. Good guy, says I
probably have polycythemia, which means too many red blood cells and usually
caused by sleep apnea. Not a great diagnosis but much better than the
alternatives. After 4 sticks the lab finally got some blood. I could have gone
to another lab after the second stick, but just wanted to get outside…I
thought. As I leave the windowless area I notice it is snowing and the wind is
still blowing hard. And me in my Tevas and no jacket. Made it through the
parking lot to the car and headed home. Then I notice that I am still leaking
fresh blood whre the 4th stick was. So I head back into the lab
area. She re-bandages it and I’m off to the snow, again. On the way over window
was down, on the way back heater was on and windows closed. CRAZY weather at
7000’.

Disclaimer:
All opinions are mine…feel free to agree or disagree.
All ‘data’
info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other
source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the
information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult
to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted
[1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
