My
Rambling Thoughts
Beautiful spring day. Wind seems to have dissipated
for the day. Nice.
Listening to an interview with a Lebanon
leader. They have so many refugees from Syria and other places, it is taxing
their infrastructure. It would be like the US getting 150 million refugees,
mostly children. How this changes schools, medical infrastructure, and food
supply is barely understandable. There are more refugee children needing an
education than the child population of the country.

jokes for the day
The
young man comes running into the store and says to his buddy, "Tommy,
somebody just stole your pickup truck from the parking lot!'
Tommy reacts, "Did you see who it was?"
The young man answers, "No, I couldn't tell... but I did get his license
plate number!"

Grandma,
who was becoming an ever more intimidating personality as the years went on,
was giving directions to her grown grandson who was coming to visit with his
wife:
"You come to the front door of the apartment complex. I am in apartment
14T. There is a big panel at the door. With your elbow push button 14T. I will
buzz you in. Come inside, the elevator is on the right. Get in, and with your
elbow hit 14. When you get out I am on the left. With your elbow, ring my
doorbell."
"Grandma, that sounds easy, but why am I hitting all these buttons with my
elbow?" the grandson asked.
"You're coming empty handed...?"

Yep,
It Really Happened
*-- New Zealand Learns a Trick from America --*
A New Zealand man who set fire to his house
while burning a wasp nest with a spray can and a lighter is lucky he didn't
burn the building down, a firefighter says. The man tried to get rid of the
nest using the makeshift blowtorch through a hole in the wall to "smoke
the wasps out" on Thursday night. Instead he started a fire in the wall
cavity. Three fire crews responded to the blaze. Southbridge senior firefighter
Ben Wilson said his crew were in "disbelief". "It's a bit of a
shock that someone might have done that. "It's a good time to remember that
aerosol cans and lighters are not a safe approach to any form of
blowtorch." Wilson told the man to "leave it to the
professionals" next time he had a bug infestation.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually
checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains
mistakes and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it
and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the
Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
