My Rambling Thoughts
Another drizzle day here at 7000’. When it is not drizzle, it is outright thunderstorms with hail.We need the moisture, so I will survive not being able to spend time outside.
I am just shaking my head as to why anyone would get into politics in this day and edge.  My junk email box if filled daily with candidates asking for $$$ to change the world. The news is filled with stories of how ‘big money’ and ‘dark money’ rule politics. Sorry but I will vote in every election, but will not give money to any candidate.

Brain Teasers
(answers at the end of post)
Try and Crack This One!
Riddles are little poems or phrases that pose a question that needs answering. Riddles frequently rhyme, but this is not a requirement.
I am not a human, nor am I an animal.
I have eyes, but cannot see,
and I have hair that you cannot comb.
My brown skin has several layers but this seems a paradox,
because one is smooth and the other is hard.
My skin protects my soft white flesh;
and within my flesh is my opaque blood.

What am I?

natgeo The burning of Kenya's Ivory stockpile today is the largest in history. Around 105 tons of elephant tusks, from approx 6,700 elephants are being torched. The estimated value is $170 million although of course this is speculative. Rhino horn is also in the mix.
Of course there are arguments for and against the burn amongst Kenyans and the wider world. But in the words of Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta pictured 'I would rather wait for judgment from future generations who I'm sure will respect the decision we have made today'. For more images of the burn follow me at@chamiltonjames / Charlie Hamilton James

2 jokes for the day
A woman notices her husband standing on the bathroom scale, sucking in his stomach. “You know, that’s not going to help,” she says.

“Sure it does,” he answers. “It’s the only way I can see the numbers.”

The pediatric nurse entered the room, prepared to do the job of giving a shot to a little girl. Upon entering the examining room, little girl starting screaming, “NO! NO! NO!”

“Jessica,” her mother scolded her, “that is not polite behavior!”

The girl stopped briefly and then continued with her screaming, “NO THANK YOU! NO THANK YOU! NO THANK YOU!”

Yep, It Really Happened
*-- Florida Man Clings to Hood of Speeding Car --*
KENDALL, Fla. - I'm starting to get used to these stories. An apparent case of road rage in Florida led to a man clinging to the hood of a white car as it sped away from the scene of the argument. Witnesses said the driver of a black sedan argued with the driver of a white Volkswagen and ended up jumping on the car's hood in an apparent attempt to prevent the vehicle from driving away. The white car's driver had other plans, however, and left the scene at a high speed with the other motorist clinging to the hood of the car. It was unclear how far the car traveled with the man on the hood, but portions of the incident were recorded on video by witnesses and business security cameras. "The guy is lucky. I mean, he was still on top of the car when the driver made a U-turn," Sebastian Roldan, whose business security cameras captured footage of the incident, told local news. "That's super dangerous. You could fall off. It's crazy he was actually able to stay on the car." The white car eventually came to a stop and the man got off the hood, apparently uninjured. Police said they are investigating the incident.

A coconut
The coconut is the seed and edible fruit of the coco palm tree (Cocos nucifera). Each coconut has several layers: a smooth, deep tan outer covering; a brown fiber of 1-2" thickness; a hard, dark brown hairy husk with three indented "eyes" at one end; a thin brown skin; the cream white coconut meat; and at the center, a thin opaque coconut juice.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
