The day started with a nice gentle rain. All good here. Yesterday had a nice rain to nourish our forest, followed by warnings of burn area flash flooding.

The current administration got a waiver to build a smart wall inside Big Bend National Park on the Rio Grande. This is insanity. This is a NATIONAL PARK and should not be part of the wall mess.

No matter what the administration spouts, the trade war with Canada, our neighbor and long-time allied country, is not going to end well for the US. We need friends.

The Stars and Stripes publication has been charged with insubordination for publishing an expose that looks bad for Trump. The publication is saying it is simply ‘censorship’ by the administration. It sure looks that way.

Wild Animals of AZ:

Did you know that roadrunners are actually members of the cuckoo family? In fact, they are the largest bird in that distinguished, yet mostly misunderstood group. The greater roadrunner found in many of Arizona’s state parks are fun to watch and can often be seen from the trail. In addition to preying upon almost anything that will fit in their mouths, the greater roadrunner has become especially adept at killing and eating rattlesnakes. Fun Fact: Roadrunners mate for life and the pair will defend their territory fiercely.
