Today’s Reflection:

Another nice summer day. No complaints.

The photo shoot at the hacienda was a success. About 9 guys showed up and took pictures for about 6 hours yesterday. Richard said it was a long day but the pizza he got was a big success. To see an earlier video of the hacienda, go to YouTube and search: hacienda Subin.  The one with Laura is great.

I am getting used to living downstairs. I can’t wait to be able to move back upstairs, but I’m not quite ready. It’s all good and I realize it takes time.

Wild Animals of AZ:

Coatimundi

Often mistakenly referred to as desert monkeys because of their long tails and propensity for trees, the coati, or coatimundi is actually more closely related to a raccoon. These social animals are great fun to watch and can be seen in several of your state parks across Arizona. Groups of up to thirty individuals have been seen and these large groups typically contain young animals and females. Male coatimundi live a relatively solitary life and join the groups closer to breeding season.

Coati's have been seen at Kartchner CavernsCatalinaPatagonia, and Tonto Natural Bridge State Parks. Their population is currently expanding rapidly and hopefully one day soon we will see coatimundis in more state parks across the system. Learn more about Arizona's White-nosed Coatimundi before your next trip!

Picture of the Day:

The unicorn is the national animal of Scotland.

Yes, although it's a fabled creature, the national animal of Scotland is actually the mythical unicorn — chosen because of its association with dominance and chivalry as well as purity and innocence in Celtic mythology. BRB, moving to Scotland real quick.
