My Rambling Thoughts
Another hot one here…no rain in site. Yeah…it’s a dry heat.
Did a little walking around this morning, but it is way too hot to be doing much more than relaxing. Several garage sales in the area…don’t need anybody else’s junk.
RIP Mohammad Ali. Back in the day the Frazier/Ali fights were one more ‘old establishment v young up and comer’. I had watched him box in the Olympics, watched him change his name and religion. I drove from Boulder to Downtown Denver with some friends to watch the 1st Frazier/Ali fight on a big screen that was set up at the Denver Auditorium in Black and White. That really began my following his long career. Always made sure I watched his fights. It was very sad when he announced he had Parkinson’s, probably from all the head blows he had taken.  He did so much for this country, by standing up for what he believed in. He was not always an American hero, but he always did what he believed was right. RIP.

Language brain teasers are those that involve the English language. You need to think about and manipulate words and letters.
Take the given words, and by moving a single letter from one word to the other, make a pair of synonyms, or near synonyms. For example, given: Boast - Hip, move the 's' from 'Boast' to 'Hip' creating two synonyms: Boat - Ship.

1. Open - Cop
2. Cave - Curt
3. Cares - Pest
4. Salve - Savage

Teacher: Johnny what do you want to be when you grow up?

Johnny: Either an animal Vet or a Taxidermist.

Teacher: Why did you choose such different careers?

Johnny: Well, either way you get your dog back.

A family enters a large store. After browsing for several moments they purchase some goods and head for the large counter at the front of the store.

They notice a robotic seal standing in a corner situated near the counter. It is dressed in a tuxedo and each time goods are packaged the seal nods as if in agreement.

After the third purchase is made the father asks the counter assistant why the robot nods each time.

The assistant replies, "Isn't it obvious? It's our seal of approval."

Yep, It Really Happened
*----- Beer: Is There Anything It Can't Do? -----*
A can of beer helped a Seattle camper extinguish a tent fire that local police believe may have been the result of arson. According to the Seattle Police Department, a man called 911 to report that his tent had been set on fire while he and another person were inside sleeping. The man awoke to find his tent on fire and quickly reached for a can of beer that he had nearby to extinguish the flames. He told police that he had been playing cards with a group of men nearby when one of them accused the man of cheating and threatened to burn down his tent. Neither victim was injured in the fire and officers were unable to identify any witnesses of arson.

Disclaimer: All opinions are mine…feel free to agree or disagree.
All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
