My Rambling Thoughts
Another beautiful day. Great day for a walk…and I got to read my newspaper on the deck. Nice!

I have been a little naive. A couple of days ago I posted picture on FB that showed all the countries I had visited internationally. Several friends pointed out there was no Navajo Nation flag or the Oglala flag. Both are sovereign nations within the boundaries of the US. Since I didn’t need a passport to live in either place, I didn’t recognize them as sovereign nations. My bad. I’ll fix it soon, with an explanation.

So, the President pulled off another one. While he made a big deal about pulling out of the Paris Accord, turns out it will take until 2020 before we can actually withdraw. Sadly the main stream media didn’t point out the withdrawal process to the American people…all they did was show him signing his executive order proposal to withdraw. One guy, a ‘fer-a-nur’, pointed it out, but none of the media picked up on what he meant. So sad.

Yep, It Really Happened
A land owner was shocked to find a man having sex with a horse, according to police in Arizona.

The Yuma County Sheriff's Office said that they have arrested 20-year-old Christopherson Maynes, after being caught on video having sex with the land owner's horse.

According to the criminal complaint, the Yuma County Sheriff's Office responded to an animal cruelty case. Upon arrival, deputies met with the reporting party who stated that the suspect had been caught having sexual intercourse with a horse on the property.

Deputies were able to recover video evidence of the suspect.

Maynes was arrested and booked into the Yuma County Detention Center. He was charged with bestiality, indecent exposure and animal cruelty.

Somewhat Useless Information
There have been a few states that never managed to make the cut and become incorporated into the United States we know today. Some of these state names were quite inventive and the dedicated residents who petitioned for them were very frustrated when the states never manifested.
Lincoln
Another name used in multiple requests for a state. The original request was in Texas and would have consumed almost half of the state. The second came about in the early 1900s and included the Idaho Panhandle. Believe it or not, the idea was proposed again in 2005.

Long Island
The region grew weary of the 'Boss' political system in New York and wanted to seek its freedom in 1869. This idea was revisited in the 1990s, but New York is unwilling to give up this diverse and economically sound portion of the state.

Sequoyah
The name Sequoyah was requested by Native Americans and encompassed the majority of Oklahoma. This included a tract of land where the U.S. Government had relocated them.

Superior
The Upper Peninsula, part of the state of Michigan, is only connected to the rest of the state by the Mackinac Bridge. It lies between Lake Superior, and Lake Michigan, hence the name. This one raises its head on a regular basis, especially when debating Michigan tax laws. Interestingly, the land area was originally part of the Wisconsin territory, but awarded to Michigan when the city of Toledo was absorbed by Ohio.

Trivia Hive  Answers
Red-tailed hawk
You hear that? That's the sound of freedom. But as mighty as the bald eagle may appear, it doesn't have the chops to represent the U.S. vocally. As a bald eagle glides across a wilderness that slowly fades into a waving star-spangled banner, a red-tailed hawk screeches behind a curtain to hide the eagle's true sound, which is more like a cackle. But don't let this truth lessen the might that is America, as we'll let freedom cackle...erm, I mean ring. Source: NPR

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
