My Rambling Thoughts
Hate days with Red Flag Warnings…but understand their necessity. There is a fire burning North of our town, that closed the highway to the Grand Canyon due to the smoke and wind.  Thankfully we aren’t getting any of the smoke, but the strong winds are no fun. However, I still have the windows and doors open. So it isn’t that bad.

I’m ready for some proof during these lengthy hearings. It take time for election officials to get ready for an election and 2018 is just around the corner. Tell us how the American system was disrupted by the Russians so that changes can be made.

Today would have been my parent’s 78th wedding anniversary. They were able to celebrate their 55th anniversary before my father passed a few months later. While they didn’t have any biological children, they did a great job of raising two sons. Both are missed very, very much on this special day.

THIS IS NOT NORMAL:
“we are under siege” and “he lied” are not statements I want to hear from the leader of the free world.

Yep, It Really Happened
Maryland Child Becomes Another Arcade Statistic

A boy spent about 30 minutes trapped in a claw arcade game at a hotel in Maryland before being freed. Authorities say the boy climbed through the game's prize door and could not get out. Harford County officials say the boy was trapped for about 30 minutes before the arcade machine owner arrived with a key to get him out. A spokeswoman for Harford County Volunteer Fire & EMS Association, Jenn Chenworth, said she did not know how old the boy was, or whether he received a toy for his efforts. She told the paper: “I think his biggest prize was getting released.”

Somewhat Useless Information
Legend has it that noodles were first made by 13th century German bakers who fashioned dough into symbolic shapes, such as swords, birds and stars, which were baked and served as bread. In the 13th century, the Pope set quality standards for pasta.
***
Thomas Jefferson is credited with introducing macaroni to the United States. It seems that he fell in love with a certain dish he sampled in Naples, while serving as the U.S. Ambassador to France. In fact, he promptly ordered crates of "macaroni," along with a pasta-making machine, sent back to the States.

***
The first American pasta factory was opened in Brooklyn, New York, in 1848, by a Frenchman named Antoine Zerega. Mr. Zerega managed the entire operation with just one horse in his basement to power the machinery. To dry his spaghetti, he placed strands of the pasta on the roof to dry in the sunshine.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
