My Rambling Thoughts
Another windy day with no clouds and decent temperatures.

Headed out to a local flea market downtown. Interesting stuff, but nuttin’ I needed. Still nice to see all the booths.

Rest of the day will be relaxing as the wind cries to stay indoors. Pollen is thick, lots of pine needles and seeds from the trees in the air…and on the ground…and on the sidewalk…and on the deck…and in the street, and…

Yep, It Really Happened
It Probably Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time

Firefighters were called to a fourth floor apartment in Coconut Creek, Florida, to put out a fire. The fire was ruled suspicious so police interviewed the housekeeper, 44-year-old Janette Pacheco. She admitted to police that she set a bedroom on fire after taking money from her employer. The condominium was deemed a "total loss." Pacheco admitted to setting the fire to cover up her theft of $160 from her 72-year-old employer. Pacheco was arrested on charges of arson to an occupied structure, and may face additional charges of crimes against the elderly.

Valencia police have launched an investigation after a swimming pool filter sucked out the intestines of the 14-year-old boy. According to the police, the boy went to the leisure center to get swimming lessons. After getting the lessons, the teen decided to stay in the pool with his friends.

For some reason he removed the vent of the swimming pool filter. As a result, he got sucked into the filter. Here is where the story gets a little fuzzy, but we can only assume what body part got caught in the filter, or why he put it in there in the first place.

Whatever the reason, the boy could not free himself due to the strong suction.

Witnesses at the scene quickly turned off the filter and several people rushed to pull out the unconscious teen from the water. He was rushed to the hospital, where he underwent hours of surgery to put his intestines back into his body.

The teen remains in critical condition, but is expected to survive.

Somewhat Useless Information
During the 1980s, macaroni, which was traditionally considered a "blue-collar" down-home meal, was transformed into the more upscale "pasta." As more and more people began to have fun with it and romanticize it throughout the '60s and '70s, its image began to change along with its name.
***
The Spanish explorer Cortez brought tomatoes back to Europe from Mexico in 1519. Even then, almost 200 years passed before spaghetti with tomato sauce made its way into Italian kitchens.

***
The Italians only ate meat a few times a month. So, when they came to America, where meat was so plentiful, they incorporated meat into their cooking more often, making meatballs an American invention.

Trivia Hive  Answers
Jeff Goldblum
Well, there it is. We mean the answer of course: Jeff Goldblum. When he"s not busy saving the earth from alien attacks on July 4, running from scientifically engineered dinosaurs, orchestrating arena fights between superheroes in the Marvel universe or trying to help you find an apartment, Goldblum is getting offers to be the voice of major technology manufacturers. Speaking in an interview with Australia"s "Today Show," the actor said he had no idea it was Steve Jobs on the line. The sad news is that while Jobs was preoccupied with whether he could, he did stop to think if he should, and the role never panned out for Goldblum. Sources: Cnet, 9to5Mac

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
