Thoughts for the day

Controlled burns continue. A little less smoke than yesterday.

I had lunch with Andy and Faith at Wildflower Bakery. Great food and great conversation.  Faith is busy with her Holiday crafting. She is so creative. Andy has been busy helping out his relatives. Mary and Mike are still down in Phoenix, enjoying their time there.

Looking forward to tonight’s Bronco game.

Humans Only Use 10% of Their Brains

This one was repeated so often that it seemed like a scientific fact. Teachers swore we had all this untapped brain potential just waiting to be unlocked. But neuroscientists have thoroughly debunked this myth—our brains are constantly active, and every part has a function. If we truly only used 10%, brain damage wouldn’t be nearly as devastating as it is. So much for all those daydreams about unlocking superhuman intelligence.

Thoughts for the day

The continuing prescribed burns are ruining the air quality here. Lots of smoke at the horizon level. A necessary inconvenience to live within a National Forest.

The Dems sure did well in yesterday's elections. Trump says he says because he was not on the ballot. I believe it is because he is in office. The winners have until January to figure out how to save our democracy. They can do it.

For several months I was just muddling through life. Now I am really enjoying every day and keeping busy taking care of business…life is great.

Bats Are Completely Blind

We were taught that bats were totally blind and relied only on echolocation to get around. Turns out, that’s not true at all—bats can see, and some even have decent eyesight. They do use echolocation, but not because they’re blind. It’s just a more efficient way to navigate in the dark. Another classic case of a fun-sounding “fact” that turned out to be totally wrong.
