Today’s Thoughts
Just enough snow last
night to make me clear my vehicle before driving. Headed out to get some necessities. Finished quickly
and headed back home.
I read these statistics
about Gaza last evening: 800 elementary and high schools along with 17 higher education
schools have now been in ruin since October. About 65% of the Gaza population is
24 or younger. Some underground bunkers are being partially used to educate
students with parents and a few teachers offering instruction between bombings.
This can not continue and never should have happened.
Terms with origins in rural America
Kangaroo
court
"Kangaroo
court" goes back to the 19th-century U.S. frontier days, when roaming
judges tried legal cases. They were paid by the trial, and a kangaroo court
refers to the image of them hopping from case to case to try as many as
possible.
Native Cultures
"Native
American" Is Not The Most Politically Correct Name
There
has been an ongoing debate on the topic of politically-correct references to
Native Americans. The debate even evolved to a professional NFL team changing
its name to avoid offending the Native American community.
Historical Myths many believe…
King
Arthur Existed
Sadly,
the legend of King Arthur and his knights of the Round Table is just that—an
English legend. The tale probably originates from Celtic myths and perhaps real
historical figures that have been adapted and inserted into the folklore
narrative. Time reports that there is zero historical evidence to suggest King
Arthur himself ever existed as a real monarch.
Historic Events

Fables.
